HOW I WENT FROM
Photographer, Producer, Presenter to
Transformational Speaker, Leader, Liberator
As a first-generation Ghanaian-American woman, wife, and mother of three children, I took a step back to seek a deeper understanding of the questions, "Who am I? Where am I from? Why am I here? What can I do? Where am I going?" I have always maintained a candid perspective toward life because ever since I was a child I experienced difficulties like homelessness, betrayal, depression, anxiety, and even sexual abuse, yet I still found a way to RISE above it all. I learned early in life that it's really not about WHO you are, it's about WHOSE you are. Even in the darkest times of my life, I believed that the Most High was keeping me.

After becoming internationally known for producing the Normalize Breastfeeding Tour and pursuing my dream of traveling as a commercial photographer with a focus on maternal health, I hit rock bottom mentally when I realized that I wasn't walking in my purpose. I felt incredibly unfulfilled even though I reached such a tremendous goal. Sometimes we think we're heading in the right direction, but we can miss the red flags that are trying to get us in position with our destiny!
So, I made an incredibly difficult, and unpopular, decision to leave my work to homeschool our children. I was desperate to have a deeper relationship with each of them. I remember how difficult this transition was. It was so overwhelming that I woke up with panic attacks every night feeling like my dreams were slipping away!
Finally, I surrendered to what life would be like. I became a work-from-home wife and mom of three homeschooled children who loved to nurture my family. I started to give my attention to a higher calling in my life. Everything changed as I began to carve out more and more time for self-care, self-discovery, and self-appreciation. Going inward rather than being focused on my circumstances, gave me the insight to walk in truth and boldly choose to fulfill my purpose right now, rather than putting it off for a check from an employer. It gave me a great sense of self and helped me to pour my overflow of joy into my family and others around me.
