The purpose of this event is to help our young people (18-24) rediscover, reconnect and realign with the Source so they can apply ancient wisdom and righteous thinking to their current life circumstances. We are planning to make an impact, virtually, by bringing together our community from every generation.
The vision of the Zion's Cry documentary refers to spiritual awakening and outcry which occurred worldwide during the pandemic but is focused on the awakening that is still happening among the African Diaspora specifically.
Our goal is to raise $300,000 during 2022 through events, promotion of black businesses, and sponsorships from brands that support our creative vision and align with our mission to bridge the gap of self-awareness, personal development, spiritual growth, and entrepreneurship in the next generation of the black community.
We also look forward to building a community around generational disparity discussion topics (health, wealth, relationships), and we want to donate a portion of the proceeds to Flourishing Families, Inc. to support black families in their community!

Latch the Gap™ is a mindset accountability program created by Vanessa Simmons, founder, and photographer of the worldwide Normalize Breastfeeding movement. She's an international award-winning photographer, speaker, and author.

Vanessa aims to help black women, wives, and mothers to rediscover themselves from the inside out, reconnect with their life purpose, and realign with the Source for whole health and well-being to impact statistical change in every area of disparity (health, wealth, and relationships) for the next generation of black families.

She is a wife of 15 years, and a homeschool mother of 3 children. Vanessa is the creator of the High-Value Vision Workshop, the Purpose Passport online course, and the Align & Shine 12 month accountability program.
A Story of Spiritual Awakening
Documentarian photographer and Founder of the Normalize Breastfeeding project, Vanessa Simmons, is traveling home to her parent's country of origin, Accra, Ghana. On her journey, she seeks to inspire black families through discussions about Pan African travel, self-discovery, and spiritual awakening regarding the Hebraic roots tied to the Atlantic slave trade. In 2019, Ghanaian President, Nana Akufo-Addo proclaimed it to be the Year of Return for the African Diaspora in response to American President Trump's 2019 proclamation that 400 years passed since the enslavement of black people. This messaging happens to be in alignment with the Abrahamic covenant and prophecy, and it thoroughly interests Simmons' in the research of Hebraic roots in Ghana and the restoration of the black family in health, wealth, and relationships. Vanessa A. Simmons' current stance is that as black Americans, "We are living in the land of our captivity and it's time for true and lasting change!"
